Winnie Hensley Stines went to be with the Lord her savior Jesus Christ this day: Sept 9, 2023 @ 9:20am. The daughter of Murphy and Bonnie Edward Hensley was born and raised in Burnsville, NC. During the early years of her life, she worked as a caregiver and CNA and drove an ice-cream truck with her late husband, Luther Stines. She dedicated most of her life to her children and grandchildren, doing everything she could for them. She was loving, caring, and found ways to laugh about anything - often telling jokes with a twinkle in her eye. She had a true gift of hospitality, always making everyone feel at home and offering anything she had.
She was full of life, loved the Lord, and had a positive spirit. She was a fighter and fought a good fight. She will be missed immensely.
Winnie was best known and now remembered as Mom, Momma, Grandma, and Mammaw. She is survived by four children - Keith McIntosh, Arnold Lee (Jeanne) McIntosh, Renee Cartee, and Daniel (Lauren) Stines; five grandchildren - Jeremy (Elizabeth) Riddle, Stacy (Jason) Melton, and Ronan, Levi, and Hensley Stines; and four great grandchildren - Celeste, Cade, and Elise Riddle, and Graycie Melton.
She was preceded in death by eleven siblings, her husband, Luther Stines, her daughter, Lisa Riddle, and her grandson, Tyler Cartee. While we have lost the best Mom one could ask for on earth, Heaven has gained an Angel, and Momma has finally reached her eternal home.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Reverend Junior Hensley will be officiating.
Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Stines family.
