Willie Dale (Adkins) Miller

Willie Adkins Miller, age 85 of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Deckard and Nettie Whitson Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rex Miller Jr.; son, Randy Miller; siblings: Kenneth Adkins, Dee Adkins, Laylia Adkins Purvis, Stewart Adkins, Rosella Murphy, and Juanita Murphy.

She was a treasured mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family and the Lord with all of her heart. She believed in “living it” instead of saying it. As she was passing from this world to the next, she was asking someone to help her through the door. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed.

She is survived by her son, Allen Miller and wife Melissa; daughter, Wendy Miller; grandchildren: Victoria Elliot and husband James of Burnsville, Lesley Bryant and husband David of Mars Hill, Cody Woodby and wife Sarah of Burnsville, Josh Miller and wife Siera of Burnsville, and Zachary Miller of Burnsville; great-grandchildren: Owen McIntosh, Finn Elliot, Isaac Austin, and Addison Woodby; brother, Ralph Adkins and wife Carol of Nebo; and sister, Phyllis Edwards of Marion.

Graveside Services will be held at the Byrd Cemetery in Burnsville on Wednesday, September 29th at 1 p.m. Reverend Charlie Robinson will officiate. Public viewing will be welcome Tuesday, September 28th from 1 to 5 p.m.
