William Douglas McCracken

William Douglas McCracken, age 78 of Connelly Springs, passed away October 20th, 2021 at Carolina Rehab Center of Burke. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Harry and Bessie Ellison McCracken. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Jimmie Ellison, LeRoy McCracken, and Joe McCracken; and sisters: Shirley Martin, Geneva Ellison, Ruth Butler and Faye Jenkins.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and had spent his life working as an assembler for Catawba Paper Box Company in Hildebran, NC.

Surviving is his sister, Luchia Marjorie June McCracken, of Grey, TN.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 28th at 12 p.m. in the McCracken Cemetery. Reverend Blair Harvey will officiate.
