Wanda Young Peppers, age 61 of Burnsville, transitioned from this Earthly life Wednesday, April 21st, 2021 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. She was a daughter of the late Hubert Young and Polly Jackson Young of Burnsville. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Bolding.
Wanda retired from the Yancey County School System as a Teacher’s Assistant after 25 years. She managed The Crazy Daisy and also worked with CVS for several years. She was a volunteer with Hospice of Yancey County and the Family Violence Coalition.
In addition to her mother, surviving is a sister, Donna Young of Greensboro; her daughter, Whitley Ann Peppers of Burnsville; granddaughter, Kynleigh Peppers; nephews: Ryan Alston and wife “Quana” and DeSean Alston; two great nieces, Nyla and Ari Alston; a special cousin, Joey Shade and wife Jackie; and special aunt, Gwen Shade Griffith.
Services will be held Saturday, April 24th in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Due to COVID–19, the family will have a walk–through visitation one hour prior to service time. The family requests that all attendants wear a face covering/mask and practice social distancing. Dr. Chris Morgan and Rev. Richard Blanton will officiate. Burial will take place in the Marietta Adkins Cemetery in Burnsville.
