Vaughtie (Fox) Roberts

Vaughtie Fox Hopson Roberts, age 100 of Green Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 4th, 2021 at her home. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Wash and Esther Laughrun Fox. She was the wife of the late Loss Hopson, who died in 1989.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Junior Hopson; daughters, Ethel Miller and Pauline McKinney; two brothers, T.H. Fox and J.D. Fox; a great-great granddaughter, Kristy Elliot; and a grandson, Martin Ricky Bryant.

She is survived by her sons, Boyd Hopson of Green Mountain and Richard Hopson of Hickory; daughter, Louise Bryant of New Smyrna Beach, FL; sisters: Margorie Hilemon of Bakersville, Gladys McKinney of Green Mountain, Robbie Ayers of Green Mountain, and Tinnie English; a brother, Clyde Fox of Green Mountain; also 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and two expected.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 5th at 2 p.m. in the Loss Hopson Cemetery on Smith Johnson Road. Reverend Hasket Honeycutt Jr. will officiate.
