Thomas Wayne Storie

Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Storie, age 80 of Burnsville, passed away Monday, November 29th, 2021 at Asheville Solace Center. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Jack L. Storie and Faye Ballew.

He spent 40 dedicated years as Superintendent of Public Works for the town of Burnsville. He was a United States Marine Corps. veteran.

Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Jerri Storie, of the home; sons, Joel Storie (Sherri) of Raleigh, NC, and Adam Storie (Stacey) of Burnsville; sister, Patricia Crosby of Burnsville; nephew, Marty Cooper of Burnsville; great nephew, Corbin Cooper; four grandchildren: Gavin Storie, Quincy Storie, Colby Storie, and Abigail Storie.

Services will be held Friday, December 3rd at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Reverend Forrest Westall will officiate, with Danny McIntosh and Charlie Hensley commemorating. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the Hunter Cemetery in Burnsville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations are made to Yancey Feed-A-Child at 151 Laurel Heights Drive, Burnsville, NC 28714 or a charity of your choice.
