Thelma (Williams) Edwards

Thelma Williams Edwards, age 88, of Marion, passed away Thursday, June 2nd, 2022 in Hudson, NC at the Amorem Hospice Robbins Center. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Williams and Mary Lewis Williams. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Solen Edwards; and a son, Roger Edwards.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Tommy (Teresa) Edwards of Marion, NC, and Sam (Denise) Edwards of Morganton, NC; daughter-in-law, Joy Edwards; grandchildren: Tabatha Edwards, Landon (Claire) Edwards, Heather Edwards and fiancé, Russell; step-grandchildren: Gabriel McCauley, Dana McCauley, Tristan McCauley, Brittany Douglas, and Chelsea Sutton; three great-grandchildren: Isaac Robinette, Micah Robinette, and Adam Maynor; step great-grandchildren: Dylan Douglas, Lawson Douglas, Lola McCauley, and Sullivan Douglas; one great-great-grandchild, Ayden Maynor; and welcoming a new great-grandchild boy in October.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 5th at Elk Shoal Baptist Church at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time. Pastors Stacy Elkins, Ryan Bennett, and Andrew Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow in the Jim Edwards Family Cemetery on Langford Branch in Burnsville, NC.
