Samuel McKinney

Samuel McKinney, age 78, of Meadowview, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Rama McKinney and Stella McCurry. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings: Mary Dale, Wayne McKinney, Wesley McKinney, James McKinney, and Jack McKinney.

Samuel spent his life as a Correction Officer at Chester County Prison in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife, Donna Gill McKinney, of the home; son, Mark McKinney; daughter, April McKinney; brothers, Eugene and Royce McKinney; sister, Helen Murphy; granddaughter, Cheyenne McKinney; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 27 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A graveside service will be held following at Rueben McKinney Cemetery on Horton Hill at 2 p.m. Reverend Tommy Murphy will officiate.
