Ronald Eric Thomas

Ronald “Ronnie” Eric Thomas, age 75 of Green Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late JB and Jennie Woody Thomas.

Ronnie worked for the U.S. Forest Service in timber sales before retiring. His favorite pastimes were wood working, gardening, and tending to his lawn.

Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife, Myrna Thomas, of the home; sons, Tim (Diana) Thomas and Jeff (Karon) Thomas; daughters, Crystal (Darin) Silvers and Sarah (Doug) Myers; grandchildren: Derrick (Paige) Thomas, Brooke (Mason) Holloway, Jenna Thomas, Miriam Myers, and Daniel Myers; great-grandchild, Callie Mae Holloway; and two very special cousins, Mark and Keith Thomas.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 16th, 2023 at Double Island Baptist Church at 12 o’clock. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time. Rev. Rick Woody will officiate. Interment will follow in the Double Island Baptist Church Cemetery.
