Reed Wilson

Reed Wilson, 70, of Lickskillet Road, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Mission Hospitals Memorial Campus.  A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Clifton Wilson and Monee Bradford Honeycut; step son of Troy Honeycutt; grandson of Milburn and Loretta Bradford and Floyd and Burle Wilson. He was also preceded in death by a brother:  Van Wilson.  Reed was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired N C Department of Corrections Officer.

Surviving are his wife:  Nancy Carolyn McCurry Wilson; a daughter:  Tammy Sheppard and husband ,Alan, of Weaverville; sisters:  Shirllene Watkins and husband, Doug, of Marion and Janet Sue Lusk and husband, Mark, of Swannanoa; and a brother:  Troy Honeycutt, Jr. and wife, Melanie, of Morganton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2019, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.  Revs. Roscoe Briggs, Jr., Darrel Tipton and Jerry Shelton will officiate.  Burial will be in Academy Hill Cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted by Sgt. E. L.Randolph Chapter 57 DAV.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
