Pauline Hopson McKinney, 73, of Green Mountain, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at her home. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of Vaughtie Fox Hopson of Green Mountain and the late Loss Hopson. She was the wife of Wesley McKinney who passed away in 2016. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Junior Hopson; a sister: Ethel Miller; and, a granddaughter: Kristy Elliott. Pauline was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a devout Christian who loved the Lord. She also loved and adored her grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her three children: Debbie McKinney Wilson and husband, Randall, of Burnsville, Robert McKinney and wife, Leslie, of Green Mountain, and Della McKinney Woody and husband, Glenn, of Green Mountain; grandchildren: Shannon Elliott, Mikhayla Letterman, Hunter Letterman, Aaron McKinney, Kelsey McKinney, and Abbegale McKinney; great grandchildren: Jade, Lawsyn and Eli; brothers: Boyd Hopson and wife, Leigh, of Green Mountain and Richard Hopson and wife, Sue, of Hickory; and, sister: Louise Bryant and her late husband, Martin, of New Smyrna, FL.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM Friday in the Loss Hopson Cemetery on Smith Johnson Road. Rev. Haskett Honeycutt, Jr. will officiate.
