Nancy Sparks Angel, age 89 of Scronce Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021 at Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mamie Ellis Sparks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Anita Ray and husband, Terrell.
She was a dedicated member of Cane River Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Claburn Angel, of the home; sons: Donald Angel and wife, Teresa, Doug Angel and wife, Patty; brother, Nick Sparks and wife, Liz, of Stockbridge, GA; five grandchildren: Amanda Hudgins and husband, Nathan, Haley Ledford and husband, Joe, Katelyn Brewer and husband, Brian, Drew Angel, Paige Angel and fiancé, Derrick Thomas; seven great-grandchildren: Ila Ledford, Elowynn Ledford, Joy Ledford, Sawyer Hudgins, Charlotte Quincey Hudgins, Coraline Brewer and Winona Brewer.
Services will be held Friday, September 17th in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends and loved ones two hours prior to service time. Reverends Shane Cassida and Matt Mills will officiate. Interment will take place Saturday, September 18th at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the residence at other times.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Compassionate Care WNC and Smoky Ridge for their wonderful care of Nancy during her final days.
