Marvin Thomas Obituary

Marvin Edwin Thomas, age 83 of Green Mountain, passed away Saturday, June 12th, 2021 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Dewey and Pearl Hall Thomas. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Marie Thomas; grandson, Jordan Thomas; three sisters and one brother.

He was a member of the Double Island Fire Department for 25 years and was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Surviving is his wife, Jane Thomas, of the home; daughters, Marva Thomas of China Grove, NC, Deborah Thomas of Harrisburg, NC; brother, Dean Thomas of Greenville, SC; sister, June Robinson of Pleasant Gap; three grandchildren: Joshua Cody Thomas, Thomas Rocha (Karey), Austen Rocha (Alyssia); two great–grandchildren, Everly and Lincoln Rocha; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, June 16th in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time. Reverend Shane Buchanan will officiate.
