Lois (York) Holcombe

Lois York Holcombe, age 88, of Burnsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 6th, 2022. Lois was the fourth child of the late Thomas Haywood York and Willie Kate Ray York. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Holcombe; her brothers: Russell York, Burl York, and David York; and her sisters, Virginia York and Mary Anne York Joyce.

Lois was a graduate of Bald Creek High School and Blanton’s Business College in Asheville. She retired from Glen Raven Mills after 45 years. Her faith in Christ guided her life, she faithfully served at West Burnsville Baptist Church until her health failed. The love of Lois’ life was her late husband, Grant Holcombe. They were married for 38 years and shared many wonderful memories.

She will be dearly missed by her sister, Peggy York Ledford, and her numerous family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at West Burnsville Baptist Church on Saturday, February 12th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Rick Ray and Clarence Ledford will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to Gideons International. Interment will follow at West Burnsville Baptist Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 protocols, the family requests that all guests wear masks and practice social distancing.
