Lillian (Edwards) Spencer

Lillian Edwards Spencer’s life here on earth ended Friday morning, June 28th, 2019, in Hiddenite, NC, at the age of 83 years old.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Wayne Spenser, daughter Denise Boggs and sons, Joseph Miller and John Miller.

Lillian was born on May 11, 1936, in Burnsville, NC.  She was the daughter of Andrew and Carrie Edwards and is survived by three siblings Delma Williams, Mae Randolph and Albert Edwards.

She leaves a beautiful legacy of nine grandchildren, Crystal, Casey, William, Bryan, Brittney, Breanna, Heather, Sarah and Jonathan, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Lillian’s beautiful, refined demeanor, and warm hospitality left her a lasting imprint on everyone that knew her.  Her legacy of faith and love of beauty will live on for generations to come through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who will always remember visiting Nana’s house and having a warm plate of chocolate chip cookies.

Lillian and her husband Wayne made their home in Cape Coral, Florida and worked with the Florida Baptist Convention for many years.  They were members of Cape Coral First Baptist Church for 28 years.

Lillian was a talented and sought out floral designer for many years.  Her least-known, but more notable accomplishment was that while in West Palm Beach, Florida, she was a preferred floral designer for Donald Trump and the late Princess Diana.  She also designed flowers for Mrs. Ethel Kennedy.

She was loved dearly and admired by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.  Revs. Henry Cook and Lee Boggs will officiate.  Burial will be in the Watts Cemetery on Lotties Creek.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
