Katrina Hunter

Katrina Hunter, age 88 of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 1st, 2020 at Madison Health and Rehabilitation. She was a daughter of the late H. Paige and Laura Higgins Hunter.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Hunter and sister, Doris H. Bostian.

Surviving are a niece, Sandra Bostian of Maryland and two nephews, Larry Hunter of Burnsville and Walter H. Bostian, Jr. of New Jersey.

Trina received B.S. and M.A. degrees from East Tennessee State University and went on to teach for several schools including Lees-McRae in Banner Elk, Blanton’s Business College in Asheville, Marion College in Virginia and Mayland Technical College in Spruce Pine where she retired from after 13 years of teaching in 1985.

At her request, a private graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 4th in the cemetery of Cane River Baptist Church. Reverend Tim Hilemon will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either American Heart Association or American Cancer Research.
