Obituary
Kathleen Rhymer, age 77 of Spruce Pine, went Home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2023. She was born on March 24, 1945, to the late Arvil and Leatha Edwards Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack A. Rhymer Sr.; brother, Bobby Gene Lewis; sisters: Maxine Penland and Barbara Trotter; and grandchild, Gwen Kirby.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons: John Metcalf, Thomas Metcalf, and Jackie (Ashley) Rhymer Jr.; daughters: Kathy (Robert) Courtney, and Elaine (Danny) Robinson; sisters: Nadine Hopson of Burnsville, Sheila Taylor of Burnsville, Evelyn Pritchard of Morganton; brother, Arvil (Linda) Lewis Jr. of Burnsville; grandchildren: Matthew (Christy) Kirby, Vanessa Kirby, Dustin (Kim) Kirby, James Courtney, Johnathan Courtney, Kristen (Julian) Mack, Joshua Metcalf, Katherine (Kenny) Metcalf, Alexis Rhymer, Colby Rhymer; twenty-one great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Lewis Cemetery in Burnsville, NC. Visitation will begin at 1:00 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home prior to the graveside service. Reverend Don Mitchell will officiate.
