Judy (Fox) Hayes

Judy Beaver Hayes (Fox), age 74 of the Bear Creek Community, passed away Monday, December 7th, 2020 at the home of a son. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Sue Hensley Fox. She was the wife of the late Rollins Beaver and Franklin Hayes. She is also preceded in death by sisters, Louise Pate and Marjorie Bowes.

Judy was a retired employee of the Mitchell County School system.

Surviving are sons, Tim Beaver and wife Susie of Bakersville, Tony Beaver and wife Debi of Burnsville; brother, Bruce Fox and wife Hella of Spruce Pine; sisters, Doris Higgins and husband Estel of Burnsville, Leola Link of Alton, VA and Bernice Rhymer of Asheville; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Byrd and Linda Brinkley of Bakersville and their family; and 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday, December 10th in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Reverends Bruce Cannon and Dale Buchanan will officiate. Burial will follow in the McCracken cemetery. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Bear Creek Church family. Memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice at 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
