Jerry Dean Silver, age 77, of the Pensacola Community, passed away Thursday, June 2nd, 2022 at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was born May 27th to the late Champ and Bonnie Silver. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Silver and Frank Silver; and sister, Zula Silver Wilson.
Jerry was known for his hard work and love of the outdoors. He worked 27 years for the Cane River Club. He started and operated his own logging business until his logging injury in 2001. In his later years, he loved to ride his four-wheeler and read his Bible. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, the love of his life, Patricia (Tish) Wilson Silver, of the home; sons: Randy Silver and wife, Jennifer, Johnny Silver and wife, Lesley, Tracy Silver and wife, Brandi, all of the Pensacola Community; grandchildren: Alicia, Trevor, Gabe, Livy, Ben, Baylor, Evan, Austin, and Zach; great-grandchildren: Paisley and Kinsley Silver; brother, Dennis Silver of Marion; sister, Jean Allen of Burnsville; sister-in-law, Jane Byrd and husband, Darrin; brother-in-law, Rick Wilson and wife, Bernie.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 5th in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 5 p.m. The family will receive friends and loved ones two hours prior to service time. Reverend Keith Miller and Reverend Barry Jenkins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Wilson Family Cemetery on Ewart Wilson Road in Burnsville, NC.
