Obituary
Ida Juanita Gillis, age 90 of Burnsville, went Home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2023. She was born on June 10, 1932, to the late Molt and Lula Higgins King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cecil Gillis, as well as her brother, John Reese King.
Juanita was known for her beautiful smile and kind heart. Adults and children alike always gathered around Juanita because of her kindness and love for life.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister-in-law, Betty Stafford, as well as numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service for visitation. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Stacey Elkins. Interment will follow in the King Cemetery on Elk Shoal Creek Road on Highway 19W in Burnsville, NC.
