Helene Elisabeth (Zobel) Fox

Helene Elisabeth Fox of Spruce Pine, was received into the arms of our Lord on January 12, 2022. Originally from Germany, Helene became a citizen of the United States in 1958. She truly loved this country. She was the daughter of the late Karl and Sophie Zobel.

Helene was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, and mother who loved helping others. She was a giving lady and dearly loved animals. As a former secretary/bookkeeper, and real estate agent, she made it a priority to work hard and do everything to the best of her ability. Especially gifted in languages, she spoke three fluently and also knew Latin. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could recount the past and historical events in great detail, which was a joy for everyone she spoke with. Helene found great enjoyment in cooking for family and friends. She was an amazing cook and made the holidays very special with her meals and desserts. 

Surviving is her husband of 65 years, Bruce Fox, originally from Burnsville; a daughter: Sophia Guiseppe and husband Frank of Chesapeake, VA, and children: Jesse, Angela, Kenton, and Alyssa; a son: Christopher Fox and wife Patricia of Hope Mills, NC, and daughter Maegan; three sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Reverend Edwin Fortner will officiate.  Interment will follow the service in McCracken Cemetery.
