Haskie Honeycutt, Jr.

Haskie Honeycutt Jr., age 80 of Burnsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Haskie Sr. and Ora Honeycutt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mack Honeycutt, Roy Honeycutt, and Dean Honeycutt Sr.; and his sister, Helen Robinson.

Junior was a man of many talents. He was a guitarist at Unity Baptist Church, where he loved to play music for the Lord. He was a loving husband and father, and he will truly be missed.

Left to cherish his loving memory is his loving wife, Grace Honeycutt; sons: Mike Honeycutt (Becky), Gary Honeycutt (Lisa), and Roger Honeycutt (Mary); sisters: Francis Edwards, and Carrie Garland; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service for visitation. A private interment will follow the service. Reverends Blair Harvey and Nathanial Ayers will be officiating. The pallbearers will be as follows: Jake Honeycutt, Josh Honeycutt, J.R. Honeycutt, Josie Pitman, Zachariah Pitman, and Sebreena Ponder.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jr.’s name to Compassionate Care of WNC at 856 Georges Fork Rd., Burnsville, NC 28714.
