Fred Allen

Fred Allen, age 69 of Pensacola, passed away Monday, April 12th, 2021 at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Frank and Madge Tipton Allen. He was also preceded in death by brothers: Ray, Larry, Steve and David Allen; and a sister, JoAnn Phillips.

Fred enjoyed his dogs and loved rabbit hunting.

Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Linda Allen; two sons: Michael Allen and fiancée, Leann Sparks of Burnsville, Darrell Rathburn and wife Kim of Murrells Inlet, SC; brothers: Jerry and Bobby Allen, both of Burnsville; sisters: Jan Ledford of Johnson City, TN, Joyce Letterman of Weaverville, Donna Allen and Christine Hensley of Burnsville; grandchildren: Landon Allen, Michalie Allen, Bianca Allen, Dalton Rathburn and Alyson Baylis.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14th. The family will receive friends and loved ones two hours prior to service time. Reverends Cecil Hensley and Brian Blankenship will officiate. Burial will follow Thursday, April 15th in the Allen Cemetery on Pensacola at 11 a.m.
