Florence (Diapo) Patriarca

Florence Diapo Patriarca, age 68 of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2022. A resident of Yancey County, she was the daughter of Dioscoro and Constania Dagudag Diapo.

Florence Patriarca was a fiercely loving person with an incredibly generous heart.  She spent her life serving others with her O.R. nursing skills in many hospitals in Florida. While also feeding many with her Filipino cuisine during her catering days. Florence truly loved her family and dedicated her life to making sure she took care of them to the best of her ability. She lived her life by the golden rule: “treat others as you would like to be treated.” She always found contentment in things even though days were long, or years were tough. She believed that you shouldn't wait for things to get easier, simpler, or better. Life will always be complicated. Learn how to be happy right now. Otherwise, you may run out of time.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Nathaniel Dioscoro Patriarca; daughter, Frances McGowan of Burnsville; brother, Brucie Diapo; sisters: Jean Balgos, and Claire Manuel; and a grandchild, Hadley Patriarca.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. At the time of announcement, a date will be provided.
