Edward Shuford

Ed Shuford, age 91 of Upper Browns Creek, passed away Thursday, December 24th, 2020 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Vernie and Bertha Geouge Shuford. He was the husband of Savannah Geouge Shuford, who died in 2004. He was also preceded in the death by step-father, Shirley Chrisawn and sisters, Irma Rumfelt and Jean Stevens.

Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Germany.

Surviving are his son, John Shuford and wife, Maphrie of Burnsville; a brother, Jay Shuford and wife Vickey of Burnsville; sisters, Maude Sparks of Burnsville, Bonnie Mosley of Fairview, Phyllis Wiley of Marion and Ann Autrey and husband John of Statesville.

Due to Weather Conditions Graveside services are rescheduled to Sunday Dec 27  At 2 PM in the Silver Chapel Church Cemetery a on Highway 80 North  Rev. Charles Carroll will officiate.
