Donald Ray Bodford

Donald Ray Bodford of Bill Allen Branch, Burnsville, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.  A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Ray and Mildred Curtis Bodford.  He was preceded in death by a sister:  Emma Jean Hughes; and a granddaughter:  Chrisy McClure Ray.  Donald was the owner/operator of Donald Bodford Backhoe Service.  He and his wife, Juanita, were active members of the West Burnsville Church of God.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years:  Juanita Black Bodford; daughter:  Donna McClure and husband, Steve; son:  Billy Bodford and Stephanie; a grandson:  Bryan McClure and wife, Samantha; great grandchildren:  Grayson McClure, and Steven and Treven Ray and their father:  Justin Ray,  all of Burnsville; sister:  Cecil Schneider of Falls Church, VA; brother:  Gail Bodford and wife, Shin, of Burnsville; brothers and sisters-in-law:  Ralph Black, Elizabeth  Robinson and Richard, and Phyllis Crosby and Gary.

A graveside service will be held at 1PM Tuesday in Pete Young Cemetery.  Rev. Randal Phillips will officiate.
