Dexter Randolph, age 91 of the Big Creek Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 6th, 2022. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Isaac and Madge Randolph. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Una Whitson Randolph; son, Gerald Randolph; and brother, Buck Randolph.
He was a member of the Bald Creek Masonic Lodge #397 A.F. & A.M.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Heather (Jamie) DePriest of Gray, TN; son, Victor (Lisa) Randolph of Rogersville, TN; daughter-in-law, Karen Randolph; siblings, Lillian (R.L.) Silvers and J.T. Randolph, both of Burnsville; nine grandchildren: Becki (Chuck) White, Willie (Misty) Randolph, Jerried Randolph, Brandon (Ashley) Randolph, Lesley (Johnny) Silvers, Michael (Rachel) Randolph, Chris Randolph, Caleb and Connor DePriest; a step-granddaughter, Haley Hill; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 9th at Big Creek Free Will Baptist Church, where he was a member and served as a Deacon for over 50 years, at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time at the church. Rev. Randy Randolph will officiate. Interment will be held Wednesday, August 10th in the Gerald Randolph Family Cemetery with Rev. Todd Robinson leading at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Big Creek Free Will Baptist Church or Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge at 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
