Dennia Hensley

Dennia Hensley, age 81, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on January 10th, 2023 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Arvil and Naomi Fender Hensley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved son, Shorty.

Dennia spent his life as a farmer, tending to his land. He enjoyed gardening and caring for his animals. And he loved his home, he truly enjoyed living on Bald Mountain.

Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife, Grace W. Hensley, of the home; sons: Eugene (Dana) Hensley, Maurice (Julie) Hensley and Dakota Hensley; daughter, Angela R. Hensley; brothers, Bobby (Hope) Hensley and Zackie (Linda) Hensley; sister, Reba Pauley; grandsons: Ean, Evan and Bunker Hensley of TX, Michael (Jessica) Hensley and Christopher Dunlap of FL; granddaughters, Michelle (Jared) Rupert and Gracie Hensley of FL.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 at 2 o’clock in the Zack Fender Cemetery on Bald Mountain.
