Obituary

Darkes Marie Henson, age 65 of Cana, VA, formerly of Burnsville, NC, went Home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2023. She was born on February 17, 1958, to the late Ernest Ezell and Alma Marie Banks Hollifield. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, David Lamont Henson and son, Timmy Davis.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Chris Davis and fiancée, Sherry Sechrest, and William Davis; brothers: Danny Hollifield and wife, Judy, Ray Hollifield and fiancée, Rebecca Reid, and Sonny Hollifield and wife, Vivian; sister, Rita Moss and husband, Jay Moss; grandchildren: Erica, Brittany, Autumn, Eric, Delilah, Timmy, Justin, Renee, Samantha and Trinity; great-grandchildren: Miyah, Nevaeh, Mason, Aurora, Cayden, Brandon, Astro, Honree, and Kinsley; as well as her nephews: Juwan Moss, Dalton Moss, Rocky Hollifield, Seth and Josh Hollifield; and one niece, LaShasta Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home to assist the family and help with funeral expenses.
