Daniel Lewis Hicks

Daniel Lewis Hicks, age 72 of Micaville, passed away Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at home. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Virgil Lee and Dorothy Young Hicks. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Scotty Hicks; and Lynette’s mother, Elaine Hicks.

He was an Army veteran.

Surviving is his wife, Linda Ray Hicks of the home; daughter, Lynette Hicks of Micaville; brothers: Ken and Dean Hicks of Micaville; step-son, James Ray and wife Mary; step-daughter, Patricia Thompson and husband Roger; and special friend, Jake Silver.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 13th at 1 p.m. at Martin’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Burnsville. Reverends Ken Anderson and Bart Deyton will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to a charity of your choosing or Hospice & Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge at 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge for their wonderful care of Daniel.
