Dan Buchanan

Dan Buchanan, 79, of Micaville, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at Smoky Ridge Rehab and Care. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Willie and Ruth Geouge Buchanan. He was also preceded in death by sisters; Barbara Honeycutt and Madge Allred; a brother, Bob Buchanan; and his wife, Hellen Lawson Buchanan, who died in 2011.

            Dan was an employee of Burleson Plumbing for over 25 years.

            Mr. Buchanan is survived by 2 sons; John Buchanan and wife, Amanda, of Asheville and Michael Buchanan of Burnsville; a brother, Ronnie Buchanan of Virginia; a sister, Nina Coble of Davidson, NC; 6 grandchildren: Kayla, Kevin, Thomas, Michael, Hannah and Derek; one great-grandchild, Charlotte.

            The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19th from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. A private Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 20th at 10 a.m. in the Anglin Cemetery.

            In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Compassionate Care of Western North Carolina, 356 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.
