Clara Lee (Briggs) Chrisawn

Clara Lee Briggs Chrisawn, age 80 of Lower Browns Creek, passed away Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Pearl Briggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Thurman, Reed, and Paul.

Clara Lee wholeheartedly dedicated her life to her work and family. Spending 23 years at Henredon Furniture Company in the veneer room, she took great pride in her work. She loved nothing more than for her family to sit around the table and enjoy a home cooked meal. She was a treasured wife, mother, and grandmother.

Surviving is her loving husband of 60 years, Clarence Chrisawn; son, Garry Chrisawn and friend, Donna Brady; sisters: Shirley McKinney and Frances Boone; brothers: Roscoe Briggs, Jr., Charles Briggs and wife, Geraldine, Claude Briggs and wife, Kathy; grandchildren: Chad Chrisawn and wife, Kayleigh, Derek Chrisawn and wife, Faith; great-grandchildren: Millie and Sawyer Chrisawn; special friend and mother to her grandchildren, Donna Chrisawn; all of Burnsville.

Services will be held Sunday, August 29th in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time. Rev. Chad Chrisawn will officiate. Interment will follow in the Carroway Cemetery in Burnsville. Pallbearers will be Alan Boone, Steven Boone, Tim Boone, Michael Briggs, Jimmy Fairchild, and Ronnie Autrey.
