Caroline Rachel Justice Deyton, age 82 of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord and reunited with her loved ones on Friday, January 15th, 2021 at Yancey House. She was a daughter of the late Hubert and Bernice Hudgins Justice. She was also preceded in death by her son, Phillip Deyton; and brother, Charles Justice.
Caroline was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her world. She was a retired Yancey County Schools teacher, having taught and coached for many years, she also directed dance teams. Past students will attest that she did all she could to enrich their lives. She always put others first. She was a member of Covy Rock Freewill Baptist.
Surviving are her daughters, Lisa McCourry and husband Rick of Green Mountain and Angie Vance and husband Linc of Burnsville; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Deyton of Green Mountain; six grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law along with numerous nieces and nephews who she loved very much.
Graveside Services will be held Sunday, January 17th at 1:30 p.m. in the Cecil Deyton Cemetery at Green Mountain, NC. Reverend Marvin Hensley will officiate.
The family requests anyone attending to follow all regulations for COVID-19, including masks and social distancing.
