Bobbye Ruth (Banks) Peterson

Bobbye Ruth Banks Peterson, age 92, of Burnsville, has gone to sleep in death on Friday, June 30th, 2023 at Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late William McKinley Banks and Julia Mae Biggs. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, W. David Peterson; daughter, Kristi Byrd Cannipe; sisters, Rodisa Ray and Mafria Banner; and two brothers, Virgal and Kenneth Banks.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her children: Steve (Becky) Peterson, Kim (Pete) McWhirter, Pete (Patti) Peterson, Kinny Peterson, and Kevin (Shelly) Peterson; brother, Gene Banks; grandchildren: Robbie Juengling, Jessie Vargas, Morgan Bryant, Michael McWhirter, Christopher McWhirter, Presley Peterson, Katie Peterson, Josie Peterson and Deacon Peterson; two great-grandchildren, Rowan Bryant and Kore McWhirter.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, July 3rd, 2023 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
