Billie Jo Parker Deyton, age 81, of Green Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Frank H. Parker and Myrtle Sparks Parker of Mitchell County. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Juanita Cox, Marilene Ledford, and Helen Hughes; brothers: Dayton, Herman, Jim, Mack, Smith, and Wayne Parker.
She had been married to her loving husband, Frank, for 64 years. Billie Jo taught at Burnsville Elementary, Clearmont Elementary and South Toe Elementary Schools and remembered her students and colleagues fondly. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, and with her church family at Covy Rock Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Deyton; sons, Joel and Eric (Cynthia) Deyton; grandchildren: Kyle Deyton, Lindsay (Eric) Moore, Erin and Chloe Deyton; and one great granddaughter, Ava Jo Deyton. She is also survived by one sister, Shelby Parker Cornwell of Maiden.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home from 5 to 7 o’clock. Funeral Services will be held the following day at Covy Rock Freewill Baptist Church on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1 o’clock. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to service time. Pastor Marvin Hensley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Riddle-Deyton Cemetery on Green Mountain. Pallbearers will be Chris Hughes, Tim Parker, Mark Ledford, Lee Spencer, Tommy Parker, Eric Moore, and Kyle Deyton with Jimmy Parker as an honorary pallbearer.
