Bill Sinclair Obituary

Bill Sinclair, age 71 of Burnsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at his home. A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Joseph Luther and Ella Fincher Sinclair.

Bill was a talented carpenter, having built many buildings around Yancey County. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran.

Surviving him are his wife of 52 years, Mabel Sinclair; daughter, Leigh Hopson and special son-in-law, Boyd Hopson; son, Joseph Sinclair and wife Karen, all of Burnsville; brother-in-law, James “Bud” Laughter and wife Carolyn; sister-in-law, Fay Hill and husband Jim, all off Edneyville, NC; four grandchildren: Nicolas and CJ Rice of Madison, Samantha Sinclair, and Chloe Riddle of Burnsville; two great-great granddaughters: Payton Rice and Kinslee Rice of Madison; and special extended family members, Michael and Tina Ray, and daughter Christina; also special friend, Guy Thomason.

Private Family Memorial Services will be held with Reverend Stacy Elkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Compassionate Care Western North Carolina at 856 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for their amazing care of Bill during his final days.
