Betty Buchanan Huskins, 85, of South Toe, went home to be with The Lord, Sunday, June 28th, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Mitchell County. A daughter of the Late Lucille Bolick Carroll and was raised by her grandparents, Joe and Allie Bolick. Preceded in death by brothers: Harold and Lawrence Bolick.
Betty was a member of Brown Creek Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Church Secretary. She enjoyed spending time with her family at Carolina Beach. Betty was known for her beautiful blue eyes and her wonderful, warm, loving hugs.
Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years, Benny Huskins; sons: Ricky Huskins and wife, Doris and Ronnie Huskins and wife, Deborah; daughter, Regina McKinney and husband, Tim, all of Burnsville. Four grandchildren: Charlene Wilson and fiancé, Chad Fox, Angela McGhee and husband, Allan, Heather Huskins and Courtney Baker and husband, Andrew. Six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren. Sister, Ruby Jo Ramsey of Spruce Pine and a brother, William Carroll of Morganton.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30th, in The Cornelius Ray Cemetery on Pollard Mine Road. Rev. Forrest Westall will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice at 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777. The Family wishes to express a heartfelt appreciation to The Staff of Blue Ridge Hospice for their care and to Heather Huskins for her special care.
