Benna Davenport Obituary

Benna Robinson Davenport, 68, of the Newdale community, departed this life Tuesday, March 24, 2020, and went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Benna was born in Yancey County on April 29, 1951 to Maphra Fox Robinson and the late G D Robinson.  Benna retired from the Blue Ridge Hospital System as office manager of the Rehab Services Department..

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 49 years:  Richard Davenport, Sr.; her son:  Clay Davenport and wife, Cathy, of Spruce Pine; a grandson : Jacob Davenport and fiance, Emily Wallace, of Carroboro; sisters: Anna Winters and husband, Arnold, of Spruce Pine, Cathy Beaver and husband, Herman, of Newdale;  brothers:  Harold Robinson and wife, Gail, of Vilas and Darrell Robinson of Burnsville;  sister-in-law:  Janie Parsley of Newdale; and a number of nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

No funeral services are planned,  A private family burial will be in the McCracken Cemetery.   A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Bridge Church of WNC of which she was a member.
