Alice Hopson Honeycutt, age 77 of Burnsville, went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 21, 2023, at her daughter’s residence in South Carolina. Alice was a native of Yancey County, and the daughter of the late Mitchell and Essie Woody Hopson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Benny Lee Honeycutt; as well as her siblings: Garland, Gertrude, Donald, Elva, Gineva, Betty Joe, and Michael.
Alice is survived by a brother, Stanley “Cotton” Hopson, and a sister, Brenda Sue Peterson; four children: Angela (Dean) Edwards, Michelle Hallam, Joshua Honeycutt, and Allen Honeycutt; ten grandchildren: Trae Peterson and Benjamin Peterson, Kyler Honeycutt, Kayleigh Honeycutt, and Khloe Honeycutt, Hunter Honeycutt, William Burnette and Hayden Burnette, Alexis Honeycutt, Levi Honeycutt; and two great-grandchildren: Will Peterson and Ivy Peterson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow the visitation. Reverend David Gillespie will be officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Faith Fellowship Church Cemetery in Burnsville, NC.
