Ray Whitson Obituary

Ray Whitson, 75, of Taylorsville passed away Friday February 28, 2020 at Catawba Valley Medical Center from complications of lung cancer. He was a son of the late Bob and Violet Gillis Whitson of Greenmountain. He was also preceded in death by  Brothers Rassie and Robert Whitson and infant brothers, Walter, Raymond and Howard.  Ray was the owner  and operator of Hickory Heritage Furniture until 2010 and a member of Liledoun Baptist Church in Taylorsville..

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Glenda Byrd Whitson, Daughters: Col. Kimberly Sencindiver USAF of Kearneysville, WV, Renee Whitson and spouse Kevin Parsons of Lenoir, Michelle Brown and husband John Wayne Brown, Jr  of Taylorsville.  Grandchildren: Matthew Sencindiver,Kristopher Parsons, Stephanie Leigh-Brown Jowers, and Anita Michelle Brown.Great grand daughter, Kinsley Jill Parsons. Brothers: Ralph Whitson of Ft. Meyers, FL and Bill Whitson of Taylorsville.  Sisters: Ruby Letterman and Rita Honeycutt of Burnsville, Ruth Mosley of Perry Hall, MD, and Rose Walsh of Elizabethton, TN. 26 neices and nephews and numerous great and great great neices and nephews  also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM Tuesday March 3, 2020 at Liledoun Baptist Church, burial will follow in the Church cemetery.  The family will recieve friends from 1:30 until 3:30Tuesday at the Church.
