Mary Earle (Thompson) Gilmour

Mary E. Gilmour was surrounded by family when she passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019, in Burnsville, NC.  She was born August 5, 1936 in Hopewell, VA.  Her late husband was Donald J. Gilmour of Deland, FL.  Mary is survived by her three children:  daughters:  Nora Holland and husband, Glenn, of Epworth, GA and Margaret Hughes and husband, Tim, of Burnsville; son:  James Gilmour and wife, Karen, of Burnsville.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren:  Roy Holland (deceased), Glenda Green, Clint Crabtree, Carrie Taylor, Chase Doyle, Wendy Lawrence, P. J. Gilmour; and, twelve great grandchildren.

Mary retired from Volusia County School Board in Deland, FL after 27 years and then moved to Burnsville, NC.  She was the volunteer coordinator at Blue Ridge Medical Center.  Mary was a member of Higgins United Methodist Church.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a wonderful friend to all she met.  She will truly be missed by everyone.
