Lexie Davis Obituary

Lexie Edwards Davis, 63, of Mt. Ulla, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020, after a long illness.  A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Ruth Fender Edwards, and the wife of the late Tommy H. Davis, III.  She was also preceded in death by brothers:  Dewey and Mac Edwards; sister-in-law:  Juanita Edwards; and brother-in-law:  Lynn Arwood..  She was a teacher’s assistant in the Rowan county school system.

Surviving are her daughter:  Morgan Davis Shuford and husband, Jacob; sisters:  Velvie Arwood of Greenville, TN, Doris Bradford and Husband, Larry,  of Mt. Ulla, Christine Laws and husband, Lawrence,  of Burnsville, and Maxine Ray of Mocksville;  brothers:  Phil Edwards of Burnsville and Pete Edwards and wife, Sherry, of Mt. Ulla; and sister-in-law:  Shirley Edwards of Asheville; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2PM Sunday in Triplett United Methodist Church Cemetery, 838 Mazeppa Road,  Mooresville, NC.  Rev. Stacey Elkins will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 3PM Saturday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.
