Janie Mae Silver, 93, formerly of Burnsville, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020, in Punta Gorda, Florida. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Jasper H. and Mamie Belle Laughter, and wife of the late Jesse W. Silver. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Hazel Cannon; a brother: Norman Frye; a grandson: Stephen Hughes and a great grandson: Jacob Canipe..
Surviving are her daughters: Elaine Flynn (Randy) of Unicoi, TN, Sheila Honeycutt (Thomas) of Kingsport, TN, Reita Silvers (Gary) of Jonesboro, TN, Rhonda Hughes (Steve) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Patti Grice (Larry) of Punta Gorda, FL; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3great, great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in Holcombe Cemetery on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 2PM. Rev. Bobby Silver and Greg Canipe will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2PM at Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.
Memorials may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
