Ina Jean Pate, 84, of the Higgins community, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at her home. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Baxter and Bernice Higgins Silvers, and the wife of Bronas Pate, who passed away in 2017.
Surviving are a daughter: Jana Pate Hughes; a grandson: Cody Hughes of Burnsville; brothers: Ronnie Silvers and wife, Ruth, Gary Silvers and wife, Debbie, and Marvin Silvers and wife Nancy; a sister: Betty Franklin and husband, Danny, of Marion; sisters-in-law: Alma Shuford and husband, Bill, of Marion, and Lillian Hensley of Granite Falls; and, several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Thursday in Higgins Free Will Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Revs. Keith Miller and Junior Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in Bee Log Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
