Effie Ann Ogle Silvers, 97, of the Bolens Creek Community, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020, at Mission Hospitals Memorial Campus. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late William Landon and Eva Mae McClurd Ogle, and the wife of the late Lester Owens and John L. Silvers. She was also preceded in death by a son: James Lee Owens; a granddaughter: Pamela Hall; a grandson: Richard Landon Hall; sisters: Agnes Winters and Irene Banks; and, brothers: Ralph, William and Earl Ogle. Effie was a member of Bolens Creek Baptist Church, where she also taught Sunday School.
Surviving are her children: Phyllis DeLorme and husband, Lee of Springfield, Oregon, John David Silvers of Columbia, SC, DeLois Ann Hall of the home, Donald Joe Owens and wife, Deanie, and Charles Douglas Silvers and wife, Bonnie; all of Burnsville; a daughter-in-law: Katherine Owens of Burnsville; 7 grandchildren: Lee John and Terry DeLorme, James Owens, Kim Hensley, Candice Trezona, Theressa Atkins and Amy Silvers; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; and 2 brothers: Charles Linberg Ogle of Utah and Robert J. Ogle of Spruce Pine.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Niles Howell will officiate. Burial will follow in Miller Family Cemetery on Ray Mine Road.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
