Creed Edwards

Creed Edwards, 85, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Smoky Ridge Health & Rehabilitation.  A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Emory and Minnie Atkins Edwards.  He was preceded in death by sisters:  Mildred Adkins, Pearl Fender and Rosetta Runion;  and brothers:  Lloyd, Coy, Boyd and Kenneth Edwards.  Creed was a faithful member of Higgins Free Will Baptist Church, a man that loved the Lord and shared His love with everyone he met.  He was a wonderful husband and father.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years:  Mamie Peterson Edwards; a daughter:  Dana Ray and husband, Mark; a son:  Craig Edwards and wife, Rusha, all of Burnsville; a brother:  Homer Edwards and wife, Carolyn, of Marion; grandchildren:  Cody Hensley, Brittney Lewis, Tasha Edwards, Alexis Edwards, Ambria Edwards, Cadin Edwards and Haley Brooks; and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.  Reverends Junior Peterson and Keith Miller will officiate.  Burial will follow in Higgins Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
