Cephas Lorenzo Williams

Cephas Lorenzo Williams, 79, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte.  A native of West Virginia, he was a son of the late Herbert Lewis and Arcie Rucker Williams, and the husband of Sally Williams who passed away in 2005.  He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers:  Herbert, Tom and Johnny Williams; and, 3 sisters:  Lucille Knox, Ethel English and Ellen Allen.

Surviving are his 9 children:  Dequilla Williams-Jenkins (Randy), Guy Williams, Cephas Williams, Jr. (Renee), Cynthia Williams, Elizabeth “Honey” Williams, Kathy Williams, Angelique Williams, Herbert Williams and Edward Williams (Caprice), all of Charlotte; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 sisters:  Mary Williams of Mooresville, NC, Reverend Peggy Sharpe of Brooklyn NY and Nokomis Williams of Charlotte; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3PM on Saturday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.  Revs. Bill Whiteside and Peggy A. Sharpe will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Marietta Adkins Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
