Barbara Lee (Silver) Fox

Barbara Silver Fox, 82, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 21, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.  A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Shelby and Martha Silver, and the wife of the late Bobby Gene Fox.  She was also preceded in death by sisters:  Nola Silver, Carrie Hess, Callie Gortney, Evie Wilson and Eva McCurry; and, brothers:  Gale, Dee, David and Dan Silver.

Surviving are her children:  John Fox and wife, Shevia, Rita Higgins and Gina Riddle and husband, Brian, all of Burnsville; grandchildren:  Johnathan Higgins (Ashley), Michael Higgins, Austin Fox (Erika), Taylor Fox (Tina),  Blake Fox, Hayleigh Fox, Brandon Riddle and Bradley Riddle (Cierra); great grandchildren:  Abby Higgins, River Fox, Ryder Fox, Briar Higgins and Lilly Fox; 3 step great grandchildren; and a very special sister-in-law:  Emma Silver Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 7PM Friday in Crabtree Baptist Church, of which she was a member for 61 years.  Revs. Dale Banks and Chad Wise will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 5 until 7PM prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be held at 11AM Saturday in the church cemetery.  Grandsons will be pallbearers.
