Arthur "Gerry" Dover

Arthur “Gerry” Dover, 59, of Burnsville, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the Spruce Pine Brian Center after a period of declining health.   A native of Yancey County, he was a son of Annie Buchanan Dover of Burnsville and the late Arthur Dover.  He was also preceded in death by a brother:  Randall A. Dover.  For many years he was associated with the family business, Dover’s Shell, and was the owner of Dover’s Smoke Shop in Burnsville.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are 2 brothers:  Norris Dover and Bo Dover and wife, Tracy, of Burnsville; 3 nieces; 1 nephew; 2 great nieces; 4 great nephews; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.  Revs. Tommy James and Ricky Ray will officiate.  Burial will be in the Grover Hunter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7PM Friday at the funeral home.
